CONCEPT / STORY
This AR project was created in collaboration with the Michelle Charitable Foundation to raise awareness of wildlife protection and environmental responsibility through augmented reality.

Two AR sculptures: a lynx family and a dolphin were designed as symbolic digital artworks highlighting species that are endangered and suffer as a result of human activity.

The project explores how augmented reality can function as a tool for empathy and social engagement.

By bringing vulnerable animals into everyday spaces through AR, the artworks invite viewers to pause, observe, and reflect on the fragile relationship between humanity and nature. Each sculpture carries a clear ecological message while remaining emotionally accessible and visually engaging

Artistic Intent

My intention was to create digital sculptures that do not shock, but quietly involve the viewer.

Rather than illustrating destruction directly, the works focus on life, family, playfulness, and beauty — emphasizing what is at risk of being lost. AR becomes a medium of care, transforming awareness into a personal experience.
LYNX

The first AR sculpture depicts a mother lynx with two playful cubs.

This work symbolizes the importance of family and mutual support in the wild. It draws attention to the issue of poaching, which often leaves young animals without protection and drastically reduces their chances of survival.

The lynx family appears calm and alive, reminding viewers that behind statistics are living beings and broken ecosystems.

DOLPHIN

The second AR sculpture features a dolphin playing within a sea wave.

The wave is colored with bright, unnatural hues, referencing oil spills and ocean pollution. Dolphins are used here as indicators of the ecological health of marine environments — when they suffer, entire ecosystems are already under threat.

This sculpture highlights the urgency of protecting oceans and marine life from human impact

AR EXPERIENCE
The AR scene is launched via a mobile device, placing a digital sculpture directly into the real environment. The viewer can move around the object, explore it from different angles, and observe its scale and subtle transformations.

The experience is intentionally contemplative rather than performative, encouraging presence instead of spectacle.

VISUAL LANGUAGE / ART DIRECTION
The visual language is built around:
  • semi-transparent materials;
  • soft glowing edges;
  • fluid, breathing-like surfaces;
  • a restrained, cosmic color palette.
The form balances organic qualities with abstract scientific aesthetics, merging art, technology, and spatial perception.
